Monument Valley Mustangs host Pizza Edge Cross Country Invite on Oct. 2

The competition will be stern and the 5K course will be challenging this Wednesday, when the Monument Valley Mustangs host its annual Pizza Edge Cross Country Invitational in Kayenta.
Eight area schools will be vying for top honors in the girl's and boy's divisions. Schools entered in the invite are Ganado, Greyhills Academy, Monument Valley (Utah), Red Mesa, Rock Point, Shonto Prep, Tuba City and host Kayenta Monument Valley.
Kayenta Monument Valley boy's head coach Herbert Beyale, III said the course will be challenging.
"It (the course) will be 5,000-meters," Beyale said. "We have an entirely new course this year. A lot of sand and hills. It (the course) will be a tough one."
The Top 12 individual places will receive an award at conclusion of the invite.

WOMENS' RACES
2:30 p.m.-5,000-meters varsity.
3:30 p.m.-5,000-meters open.
4:30 p.m.-2-miles varsity.
5:30 p.m.-2-miles open.
MENS' RACES
3 p.m.-5,000-meters varsity.
4 p.m.-5,000-meters open.
5 p.m.-2-miles varsity.
6 p.m.-2-miles open.
