Jovon Scott remembers the long trips, but mostly the brotherhood.
“(I will) miss basketball because of the brotherhood we have, we (are) all so tight.” Javon said of his senior teammates - Deandre Petty, Isaac Monroe and Jacob Wood.
Jovon’s favorite part of the Senior Night was not the win against Cactus.
“My favorite part was walking out with my brothers.”
Jovon has big plans set for the future.
He received a scholarship offer from Ottawa University to play football.
But first Peoria (23-3) meets Bradshaw in a playoff game Tuesday.
“Javon’s defensive ability helped us a lot,” said coach Patrick Battillo. Battillo called the night “emotional… (this) group is special to the program.”
Monroe’s family showed up to support him on his special night.
“I’ll remember this night forever,” said Monroe, who hopes to play basketball in college and major in sports medicine.
“Isaac does whatever he needs to, (he) leads by example,” said Battillo.
Battillo appreciates the effort Petty gives. “Deandre wanted it more than anyone else.”
About Wood, he added: “He (Jacob) is a great program player.”
