Four of the top 10 teams in the current 5A-I power-point rankings and the top team in the 5A-II rankings highlight the 12-team field of the Lady Hawk Volleyball Classic Friday and Saturday at Highland High School.

Hamilton (No. 2 in 5A-I ppr), Highland (6), Chandler (7) and Red Mountain (9) will be on hand as will 5A-II Deer Valley (No. 1) in the two-pool, round-robin play format. Competing in the Teal Pool are Highland, Red Mountain, Deer Valley, Chandler, Westwood and Verrado. The Black Pool consists of Hamilton, Mesa, Perry, North, Desert Ridge and Williams Field.

Teams play three matches Friday with play beginning at 3 p.m. Play resumes Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with two more matches each. The top two teams in each pool advance to the gold bracket for single-elimination play. A silver bracket of the third-and-fourth place teams will also compete in single elimination. The 5 and 6 seeds each will have a consolation match.

Gold bracket semifinals are sset for 1 p.m.  with the finals commencing at approximately 3:30 p.m.
