Former St. Augustine runner Nico Montanez takes 3rd at USATF 20K Championships

Nico Montanez won ten AIA state championships for St. Augustine before becoming an All-American running for BYU and he came up with a big finish at the USATF 20K National Championships held in New Haven on Monday.
Montanez ran a time of 59.54 to take third place in the event with Ben True of New Hampshire running 59.53 and Biya Simbassa of Flagstaff finished with the same time 59.54 but he edged Montanez at the line. Montanez took home $2,000 in prize money.
