Lauren Pings wins fourth championship; Highland girls scored 20 points

DIVISION I BOYS
Highland won the third state championship in program history (2011 and 2019), beating Liberty 43 to 122. Desert Vista scored 154 points to take third.

Chandler senior Gibson Kibia (15:50.2) took first and Highland junior Timothy Willford (16:08.8) came in second. Chandler senior Francis Kibia (16:10.5) took third. Gibson Kibia is Chandler’s first state champion.

DIVISION I GIRLS
This is Highland’s second championship in a row and the Hawks did it with 20 points. This is the lowest total since Hopi scored a perfect 15 points in 1999. Tuba City recorded 20 points in 1975 and 1977 and Hopi scored 19 points in 1995 and 1997. Desert Vista came in second with 65 points and Xavier took third with 146 points.

DIVISION II BOYS
Ironwood Ridge scored 84 points to take first place for the second time (2009). Flagstaff (90) took second and Catalina Foothills (92) took third place. Flagstaff beat Ironwood Ridge 85 to 90 last year.
Catalina Foothill senior Brandon Martz (15:39.4) took first, Campo Verde senior Martin Breinholt (15:41.8) took second and Catalina Foothills junior Max Irey (16:17.0) came in third place.

DIVISION II GIRLS
Flagstaff (48) won the 18th title in program history and the and the seventh since 2015. Desert Mountain (144) took second and Cienega (172) took third.

Chinle scored 61 points to win the 10th championship in program history and the first since 2011. Salpointe (91) took second place and Snowflake (127) took third.
