The race for the 2025 D-I boys wrestling championship is heating up after the sectional tournaments concluded this past weekend.

The Section II contest consisted of highly skilled wrestlers, competitive coaches and excited fans and family members. Desert Vista was able to defend its home territory in a wrestling rich section.

Desert Vista’s success was catapulted by a run of mid weight dominance, winning the 150, 157 and 165 weight divisions. This was necessary for them to win after 2nd place Kofa had an early run of winners in the lower weight divisions.

It’ll be exciting to see what happens this weekend in the state tournament, which Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum will host. (1826 W. McDowell Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85007).
