Highlighted by National Junior of the Year Stanley Johnson of Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), MaxPreps presents the 2012-13 Boys Basketball Junior All-American Team.

Selections are based on team success, statistics and local, regional and state honors from the recently completed season. Potential at the college or professional level is not a consideration. Players in post-graduate programs are not eligible for inclusion.

FIRST TEAM

Joel Berry, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando, Fla.)
6-0 | 190 | Guard

Repeat selection as Florida Mr. Basketball, missed eight games with injury but Lake Highland Prep was unbeaten with him in lineup (21-0). Piled up 25.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Already committed to North Carolina.

NATIONAL JUNIOR OF THE YEAR
Stanley Johnson, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)
6-5 | 215 | Guard-Forward

Upstaged star senior Aaron Gordon in the California Open Division title game with 26 points and 12 boards, leading Monarchs to third state crown in a row. Averaged 19.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game on the season.

Tyus Jones, Apple Valley (Minn.)
6-1 | 170 | Guard

After pumping in more than 28 points per game as a sophomore, elite 2014 point man dialed back the scoring (20 points, seven assists per game) this winter and led Apple Valley to a 30-1 record and Class AAAA state title.

Emmanuel Mudiay, Prime Prep (Dallas)
6-3 | 190 | Guard

Supremely talented and physically gifted guard was leading scorer for first-year Prime Prep program, which went 37-2 and reached National High School Invitational semifinals.

Jahlil Okafor, Whitney Young (Chicago)
6-10 | 270 | Center

Looked like a serious contender for national POY honors through much of season as he put up monster double-doubles consistently against Whitney Young's murderous schedule.


SECOND TEAM

Karl Towns Jr. helped St. Joseph reach New Jersey's Tournament of Champions title game.


Clayton Custer, Blue Valley Northwest (Overland Park, Kan.)
6-1 | 165 | Guard

Accumulated 22.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in leading BVN to 25-0 record and No. 13 national ranking. Already committed to Iowa State.

T.J. Haws, Lone Peak (Highland, Utah)
6-3 | 160 | Guard

Early BYU verbal tallied 17.1 points, 4.6 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game for high school national champions.

Karl Towns Jr., St. Joseph (Metuchen, N.J.)
6-11 | 235 | Center

Put up 20.6 points, 14 rebounds and 5.3 blocked shots per game to help St. Joseph go 27-5 and reach Garden State's Tournament of Champions title game.

Reid Travis, DeLaSalle (Minneapolis)
6-7 | 220 | Forward

Also a star quarterback, Travis topped Tyus Jones for some local honors. Averaged 27.4 points per game for undefeated, nationally ranked Islanders.

Justise Winslow, St. John's (Houston)
6-6 | 210 | Forward

Produced dazzling stat lines nearly every night out, including a 40-point, 17-rebound effort in December. Averaged 28.6 points, 15.7 rebounds on the season.


THIRD TEAM

Already over the 2,000-point mark for his career, Class AA Mr. Basketball averaged 20.2 points and 8.1 rebounds for repeat state champs.

Trey Lyles, Arsenal Tech (Indianapolis)
6-9 | 225 | Forward

Posted 17.9 points and 12.7 rebounds per game for 21-5 Titans en route to Associated Press first team All-State honors.

Rashad Vaughn, Robbinsdale Cooper (New Hope, Minn.)
6-6 | 200 | Guard

Part of a special junior crop from Minnesota, poured in 28.5 points per game to go along with 9.6 rebounds.

Intriguing oversized wing prospect was stat machine with averages of 26.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.

JaQuan Lyle, Bosse (Evansville, Ind.)

Associated Press second team All-State pick compiled 27 points, 13.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game.

CIF Southern Section Co-Player of the Year helped Eagles challenge for SoCal supremacy, earn national ranking.

Quentin Snider, Ballard (Louisville, Ky.)

Averaged 19.6 points per game to lead Bruins to 30-win season and finals of Kentucky's single-class Sweet 16 state tournament.



FIFTH TEAM



Justin Coleman, Wenonah (Birmingham, Ala.)

Leading scorer for three-peat state champs at 20.3 points per game to go along with 7.7 assists and 4.2 steals.

Marcus Evans, Great Bridge (Chesapeake, Va.)

Group AAA All-State Player of the Year helped Wildcats to 25-4 record, putting up 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game.

Ahmed Hill, Aquinas (Augusta, Ga.)
