Seton Catholic's Quentin Hovis added another wrestling title this past weekend, this one on a wider scope. Hovis, already a two-time state champion, won the 138-pound class at the NHSCA Sophomore Wrestling Nationals in Virgiina Beach, Va.

Hovis won six matches and captured the crown with a 9-2 decision over Conor Melbourne (N.Y.). Hovis won his semifinal bout, 14-1, over Logan McCoy from Marylane. Hovis won his other matches by scores of 12-3, 6-3, 15-7 and 11-5. The bracket consisted of 64 competitors from across the country. To be recognized as an All-American competitors needed to finish in the top eight.

Hovis won his second Divison III state title for Seton back in February at 138 pounds. He was the 113-pound D-III state champ as a freshman. Seton finished third as a team in D-III this past season with Hovis leading an up-and-coming program.
