The Arizona Interscholastic Association’s executive board dwindled the candidate list for the AIA’s executive director job from five to three Wednesday.

The three finalists are David Hines, Dr. Anna Battle and Mike Sivertson. Five candidates, including Cactus Shadows principal Dr. Steve Bebee and Louisiana High School Athletic Association executive director Eddie Bonine, were interviewed by the AIA’s board Wednesday.

Hines is currently serving as the assistant executive director of the AIA, Dr. Battle, a former AIA board president, is the Tempe Union assistant superintendent for district operations, and Sivertson is the coordinator of athletics and business operations for the Peoria Unified School District. Following Friday’s annual legislative council meeting, the AIA will host a meet-and-greet with the three finalists at the AIA’s Phoenix office at 1 p.m.
